Jordan Kuwait Bank and IATA Reinforce Alliance with the Launch of IATA Pay Integration with CliQ Instant Payment System

Jordan Kuwait Bank has strengthened its strategic partnership with the International Air Transport Association (IATA) through the integration

Jordan Kuwait Bank has strengthened its strategic partnership with the International Air Transport Association (IATA) through the integration of IATA Pay into CliQ instant payment system, enhancing the digital payment landscape for the travel industry.
As the sole clearing and settlement bank for IATA in the Jordanian market, JKB's addition of IATA Pay onto CliQ marks an important advancement in their partnership. This collaboration enables customers to purchase tickets online by directly debiting their bank account, with no extra fees and enhanced security measures including QR Code and Request-To-Pay options.
Mr. Suhail Salman, Head of Retail Business, stated, "Our strengthened partnership with IATA through the IATA Pay initiative underscores our dedication to providing secure, cost-effective, and efficient payment solutions. We are proud to be the pioneer in the region, setting new benchmarks for customer satisfaction and operational excellence in the travel sector."
Javier Orejas, IATA’s Global Head of Banking and IATA Pay, says “Today, customers want personalization, efficiency, and seamless experience wherever they shop, and they want a variety of secure and simple payment options. Airlines are responding to these trends, and at IATA, we want to be able to support them.”
JKB was able to enable IATA Pay in collaboration with our partner A2A, which is a leading IT solutions provider specializing in innovative electronic payment platforms and digital transformation.
Mr. Nabil Halaseh, General Manager of A2A, commented on the company's involvement in the project: “As the IT solution provider behind this significant integration, we at A2A are thrilled to see the successful collaboration between Jordan Kuwait Bank and IATA Pay come to happen. Through this network, we were able to successfully integrate a secure payment solution that can set a new standard in the travel industry.”
The integration offers mutual benefits, airlines receive faster payment settlements and improved back-end operations, while consumers enjoy a transparent and secure transaction process. This initiative solidifies JKB's role as a leader in digital banking innovation, focused on customer-centric solutions.
Considering this enhancement, Jordan Kuwait Bank anticipates a significant increase in customer convenience and satisfaction. The ease of direct bank account debit provides extra solutions other than credit cards, which can be a barrier for some consumers, thereby broadening the accessibility of online travel services.
