Jordan Kuwait Bank congratulated the players of the Jordanian national football team on their remarkable achievement of winning second place at the 2023 AFC Asian Cup held in Qatar. The team made it to the finals of the tournament after defeating the South Korean national team in a historic semi-final match. The achievement marked the first time Jordan reaches the finals in the highly competitive tournament amid nationwide celebrations. 
Expressing pride in the Jordanian team’s milestone victory, and as part of the bank's commitment to promote a culture of social responsibility, Haethum Buttikhi, the CEO of the Jordan Kuwait Bank, announced financial support of JOD 100,000 for the team, marking their first time to advance to the finals of the AFC Asia Cup.
Buttikhi reiterated His Majesty King Abdullah II's dedication to supporting youth and in developing and nurturing athletic talents. He commended the national team's extraordinary accomplishment and echoed the sentiments of HRH Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II who, in a post-victory tweet, wrote: "Congratulations to Al-Nashama... you have brought joy to all Jordanians."
Buttikhi expressed appreciation for the efforts of the Crown Prince, who attended the game along with HRH Prince Ali bin Al Hussein, President of the Jordan Football Association, and other members of the royal family, witnessing the pivotal moment when the team fulfilled Jordan’s aspirations and dreams. Buttikhi praised the Jordanian team for their performance, courage, and sportsmanship, all of which resulted in stellar teamwork and a remarkable display of athletic ability that brought pride and joy into every Jordanian and Arab home. Buttikhi wished the team continued success in pursuing their dream, strengthening their victories, and completing their journey at the World Cup in 2026.
Buttikhi also expressed gratitude and appreciation to HRH Prince Ali bin Al Hussein for his unwavering and dedicated efforts in supporting the Jordanian team as the President of the Jordan Football Association, which has played a pivotal role in the team’s ability to reach the finals.
